Francesco Trabucco

Professor of Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design
He is a Professor of Industrial Design at Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design, an architect, and designer has obtained various architectural and design awards, including the award of the Compasso d’Oro, Gutte Forme, IL Bio. His projects are part of the permanent collections in different museums, including Moma di New York and the Modern Art Museum in Monaco.
 
Two times he was a curator of Triennale di Milano. From 1997 to 2001 he was part of the scientific committee of Triennale di Milano. From 1992 to 1996 he was a Vice-President of ADI (Associazione per il Disegno Industriale). He is a permanent member of a Design Jury founded by ADI, Confindustria, and Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Milan for design protection. He was the board member of PoliDesign consortium starting from its foundation until 2011.
 
He is a consultant of Design for Cefriel, consortium of Politecnico di Milano.From 2001 to 2011 he was responsible for the research unit IDEA of INDACO department of Politecnico di Milano, that occupies in research and design focused on innovation of industrial products. The main research and consultancy services of the department are provided to the global brands IBM, Indesit, Whirlpool, Howard, Ferrero, Motorola, Anie, Atm, and others. In the same year, he was responsible for the Space Lab, another research unit at INDACO department of Politecnico di Milano, that is aimed to research the habitability in the Space. In 2003 he has founded and directed for 2 years the research lab PUL (Product Usability Lab) that is aimed to analyze and evaluate the quality of the usability of the industrial products.
 
He is the president of the study program Design & Engineering and a former coordinator of the Doctoral research in Design of Politecnico di Milano, Department of Design.
